
Julie Ellen "Tawny" Kitaen (August 5 1961 - May 7 2021) was an American model, actress and a media personality. She began her career as a television actress, appearing in television movies Malibu (1983) as well as California Girls (1985). She was also in comedy films The Perils of Gwendoline and Bachelor Party (both 1984) and the horror film Witchboard (1986). Kitaen has gained a wide recognition due to her role in numerous music videos featuring heavy metal, including Ratt's (1984) "Back for More" Whitesnake's ("Still of the Night") and Whitesnake ?Ts ("Is This Love") (all 1987). In the 2000s Kitaen began appearing on reality TV shows like Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) which explored Kitaen's struggles with addiction. Julie Kitaen was born in San Diego, California, in the year 1961. She is the third oldest of three children of Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) who was a housewife and a beauty contestant once, and Terry Kitaen. Kitaen works for a neon sign company. Kitaen's mother, from Irish and Scottish descent, was married to Terry Kitaen (an employee of a neon sign business). Her father was Russian Jewish. Kitaen was raised Jewish. Kitaen started using the title "Tawny", at 12 years old, on her own initiative. She was dyslexic when she was a child. The result was that she had to drop out from Mission Bay High School. Seven years later, at the age of 14, she had backstage access to an Peter Frampton concert at Balboa Stadium.[8She had seen Penny Frampton receiving VIP treatment and was inspired to emulate her. [9]
